The Provincial Office for Cancer Registration is one of 16 population registries of cancer in Poland. It monitors health of the Silesian population regarding the occurrence of cases of cancer.
 
Main tasks of the Office:
 
  • collecting data about diagnosis and suspicions of occurrence of the malignant cancer types among the inhabitants of Silesia; 
  • processing of the collected data (also data necessary for the realization of tasks connected to public statistics); 
  • data exchange with entities responsible for providing equal access to health care; 
  • data analysis; 
  • co-operation with other domestic and foreign registries. 
The  Provincial Office for Cancer Registration also works towards other goals as part of the National Program for Battling Cancer.
